1 Point Perspective - Design Your Bedroom
In this project students will gain a knowledge of perspective and value. The students will be creating their ideal bedrooms using 1 point perspective. They will start with a perspective packet provided by me and when they complete their packet they can then get their final paper and create their rooms. After they draw their rooms I will give them a value sheet so they can get a better understanding of value and I will help when needed. After they complete their value sheets they will then move on to their own projects adding value and color if they choose. When they are done we will mount their work and hang it in the common room for display.

Fun With maps
The goal of this assignment is to create an artwork that incorporates the use of a map as your paper surface and value throughout the composition. The map MUST be included in some capacity. What do you think about when you hear Road Trip? In this assignment I want the students to explore this idea and share what this means to them. It does not have to be a literal translation or an actual destination. They will have me approve their ideas from practice sketches and then start their final piece. We will be doing this by making torn paper collages.

Emphasize the use of tints, tones, and shades to make the painting look more full and rich. Students will check in with me to okay their line drawing before beginning the painting process.
